SMi group reports: Interview released with Royal Canadian Navy released ahead of Maritime Information Warfare conference taking place this November in London
With SMi’s 2nd annual Maritime Information Warfare conference just 2 months away, SMi group caught up with Commander Jeff Loder, Section Head Communications and Information Systems Requirements, Royal Canadian Navy to discuss current developments, priorities and the upcoming event. View a snapshot below:
‘Why is Information Warfare (IW) so crucial to Navies operating in the modern maritime sphere?’
“Traditionally navies have operated in three primary areas of warfare; Anti-Air Warfare (AAW), Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW) and Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW). Although previously foundational, IW has advanced exponentially to become the predominate activity integrated with all traditional warfare areas and one that requires constant attention and practise. IW supports and is supported by the other warfare areas. In our modern naval enterprise, IW is now the key enabler in all naval activities and directly affects our ability to deliver excellence in operations at sea.”
